For my dad..

I created this blog today so my father can share his stories, keep a journal, and keep in touch with everyone, near and far.

As you may or may not know, he has been diagnosed with NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) and he is currently undergoing chemo.

I am including some of my favorite pictures of my dad by posting a compilation we did for his 70th surprise birthday.

Hi Mike!
Just want to say that I think about you everyday and say prayers for you that you and your family will have the strength to beat the hell out of this bad situation. Your family will be there for you as you have always been there for them. You are with them in everything that they do. You are part of them and always will be. Please give this the greatest fight you can. You are loved not only by your family but by your friends. Keep happy thoughts, relive old memories and may God bless you in this hard journey. As always your friends, John and Judy Kovack

That was such a wonderful idea that you did. We want to say we were deeply saddened to hear the news and want everyone to know that our thoughts and prayers are with everyone. If there is anything Tracy or I can do please do not hesitate to ask. We love you all and God Bless.

Hi Mike and family!
Just been thinking about you today! Title: In a world of your own. I remember on a trip to Cancun taking a bus trip to an ancient site and learning so much about other cultures in the soaring heat. After trying to find comfort from the sun in a cave with spring waters and humidity we turned around to a new discovery.... MIKE is LOST! After searching for an hour and panicking and wondering where could he be we all were ushered to the bus to go back to the hotel. And there sitting on the cool air conditioned bus is MIKE!
We asked you where you were and you said you were talking to the guide. Perfectly fine with you but frustrating to us who thought we had lost you to the ruins or got swiped away into the ocean. Lost of memories. Why is it it's always of you getting LOST. Love to you, John and Judy

Ms. Kovak, you are absolutely correct!! A lot of the memories I have myself are of the Where's Mike? variety. But you know as well as I do that Uncle Mike IS always there even if in the background, but always there having a grand old time talking and talking.....I never passed up on the chance to talk to Uncle Mike. So Uncle Mike--talk. We are listening!!
Love, Jeni
